The Medicine Garden

Our vision

We are a group of volunteers inspired by our love of herbs, that have come together to create a community herbal medicine garden on an allotment plot in St Werburghs.

This garden is a resource for the community.  It’s a space to learn about growing and propagating herbs, learning their uses and gaining experience harvesting, preparing herbs and making medicine.
By teaching people to identify plants usually only found in the wild, we hope to deepen their connection to the wider landscape. We grow many species of both common and rare native plants.
We are a diverse group, including  herbalists, plant lovers, growers, community organisers and health workers.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and experience.
